Great compilation that will endure for a long time.
I honestly have not seen most of these movies but the music stands up well on its own. This recording is derived from many movie soundtracks Vangelis has done over the years. You do not need to have seen any of the movies to have this disc be a valued part of your collection.

The "Chariots of Fire" theme alone should be required content in anyone's library. Oft-satired, this song epitomizes effort and the concept of the race.

The more obscure pieces such as the portion of "Heaven and Hell" pulled as part of the Cosmos series with Carl Sagan evoke emotion. I was very happy to see this song included in this collection.

If you like New Age, Electronic, Soundtrack, or Avant Garde music you will find a wealth of entertainment here. Even if these are not your style, this disc stands up as great material.


Creation at its boiling point!


Try to imagine just for a moment what would it have been about the legendary cult movie Blade runner if not for that formidable theme, for instance; and the same question turned
around Chariots of fire.
Vangelis has reached an honor place among the most emblematic, prolific and imaginative creators of atmospheres at the moment to compose a soundtrack.

Only Vangelis `s kaleidoscopic state of mind could make it. And this album contains some of his most representative titles along almost thirty years of fruitful trajectory.

Go for this CD without hesitation.

Just love this CD!
I never saw Blade Runner or any other film but Chariots of Fire which I adore. I wonder if Vangelis' other music is equivalent to his movie soundtracks. Vangelis' sound is unique and wonderful. It's soothing music to listen to anywhere, home, the car, or an exercise class like yoga. Vangelis' sound can calm you down after a bad day or make those driving trips worth the hourlong compact disc of his music. .


Vangelis Themes
Lots of tracks included. Excellent quality for one who like instrumentals/synthesizer stuff. Very satisfied.


An outstanding album
" It's an extraordinary album and I highly recommend it. "Vangelis: Themes" is a collection of some rare and some more popular theatrical theme music from movies including "Blade Runner" and "Mutiny On the Bounty.
