BETTER THEN IMAGIONED GREAT PRICE, GREAT VALUE, GREAT MUSIC. I COULD NOT BE MORE SATISFIED EVEN IF I HAD TO PAY MORE.
Great Raw Blues
The quality is good. These 3 cds have a lot of nice live recordings. This could be a 'greatest hits' album.
.
Amazing price
I think this was a great deal!!!! We are going to Stevie Vaughan & Eric Clapton concert next month, and this was a great way to remember, the good old songs!!!.
Drop the hammer
Is there material missing? Sure! Is this box set worth every penny? I think so. Is this box set perfect? No. As a serious SRV collector I've always been interested more in SRV as a performer and less about his studio work. The blues were always meant to be played live. Blues songs are vignettes to emotions and experiences. As a previous reviewer noted, most of the un released material is live, which for me, is truly worth every penny. The same reviewer noted that SRV seldom played the songs differently. As a person who saw him several times spanning his entire career with Double trouble, I could NOT disagree more. yes, the song lyrics didn't vary. The pace of songs varied almost every show. Take the song Love Struck Baby or Rude Mood. If you listen, i mean really listen, count the notes. . . . with SRV, it was always about the notes.
Best boxed set ever!!!!!!!!!!!
This boxed set is a moving tribute to the man and his music. I was in college when I 'd heard about SRV dying in a plane crash. The unreleased recordings are amazing. The best boxed set I own.
