Brilliant stuff, but where did they go? But in reality, the Vengaboys are not annoying or stupid, just a band with a completely addictive funky album. When you hear the Vengaboys, you immediately think 'Uh oh are they releasing another single?'.
I like the Vengaboys, but Kim seemed to be the only one that ever sung! My favourite member was Denise, and she never did any singing! ARGH! But this is a good album, and Kim does have a good voice. Standout tracks are:
1. Shalala Lala
You just totally can't get the chorus of this song out of your head! You listen to it once and it's stuck there permanently. But that's a good thing cuz this song is groovy catchy and has a very cute video!
2. Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine)
Another catchy as hell song. The chorus to this song will get stuck in your head, only to be replaced by "Shalala Lala" next time you listen to it! But you'll be singing along to this song, and dancing in no time!
4. Uncle John From Jamaica
God I cannot spell Jamaica! Anyway, this is another song with an irritatingly catchy chorus. The verses are pretty addictive too!
8. Skinnydippin'
I laughed the first time I listened to this song. It's so cute! It has cool verses and a cool chorus. You'll want to listen to it over and over.
9. Forever As One
My favourite. It's a gorgeous ballad that shows Kim can really sing. I cried the first time I listened to it. It was going to be a future single, and they definitely should have released it.
Favourite songs in order:
1. Forever As One
2. Uncle John From Jamaica
3. Shalala Lala
4. Skinnydippin'
5. Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine)
Overall, just a happy, funky party album that would get anyone who likes dance music up on their feet.
Let's party!
This one is a lot better because you don't feel like hearing the same song over and over again. I was really dissapointed by their first album. There are only a few Instrumentaltracks, lots of dancetunes and even a ballad. The lyrics aren't meaningful but this is not necessary for a great party-CD.
Shalala lala: This song is made for a Apres-ski party. But I swear that people in Austria don't look like the girls in the video!
24/7 in my 911: Great partysong. Reminds me of "Boom boom boom boom"
Kiss: The first single. A typical Vengaboyssong
Uncle John from Jamaica: Another great Partysong for having a beachparty
Cheekah bow bow: The computervoice and the lyrics are funny when you hear it for the first time. But it starts getting on your neryes very fast
48 hours: There are no vocals on this track. It's nice
Your place or mine: This song is so romantic: But it's not a ballad. Still for dancing.
Skinnydippin: One of my favourites although I don't know what "Skinnydippin" is supposed to mean
Forever as one: That's so beautiful. A ballad that shows us that Kim (the leadsinger) has a good voice. I just don't understand why they didn't put it on the end of the album. So it's somewhere stuck in between two dancefloorsongs
Opus 3 in D#: No vocals and very very long.
Fun pop music
Of course I had no idea who the group was, and it took some searching, and listening to internet radio to discover the group. I first heard a Vengaboys song at a Seattle Sonics basketball game.
I've bought this album and the party album, both are very catchy. If you like Ace of Base, or Aqua, this group is for you.
The platinum Album has a Video CD included that has a couple of their music video's. It is well worth it!!.
Great Album, Better Than The First
Songs like Kiss(When The Sun Don't Shine), 24/7 in my 911, Cheeka Bow Wow(That Computer Song), Skinny Dippin, are great to sing and dance to and just have a great time. Okay the Platinum Album is by far better than the Party Album. Shala Lalala is a great pop song. Can't really say the same for Uncle John From Jamaica(the chrous is mainly the worst thing about the song). Forever As One has to be one of the most emotional ballads I ever heard. It's simply great. The rest of the tracks are good but strictly for a party. Unlike the firstt album, the Platinum Album boots better developed songs. Wich is great. Its just to bad they didn't release the album in the States.
Cheesy Pop At Its Best
The Platinum album is the Vengaboys second album and it is filled once again with cheesy pop at its best. Vengaboys have managed to define the art of cheesy pop. Containing the Uk hits Sha La La La, Kiss When The Sun Dont Shine, Uncle John From Jamacia and The Computer Song. This album isnt as instantly catching aas the first one but it is still worth a listen.
