Customer Reviews A little weak in places, but it's still VENOM But only a little. I've been waiting for this CD for a long time, so when I finally got it, I was just slightly disappointed. It's great that Cronos,Antton & new/old guitarist Mykvs (a. k. a. Mike Hickey, from 87's "Calm Before the Storm") are still going. However, the album is missing the razor-sharp riffs of original guitarist, Mantas. The whole thing is like the equivalent of getting hit over the head with a sledgehammer. The mix could be just a little better, but overall, I can't really complain. My personal favorite tracks here are the opening one, ANTECHRIST. That'll get your blood pumpin'. Other great ones are: DEATH & DYING; [. . . ]; BLESSED DEAD; MALEFICARVM & the title track, METAL BLACK. The other tracks could have used a little more work, but as I said, it's still great to have a new VENOM CD. BUY IT!!!. not too shabby BIG thrash fan. . but I was never a Venom fan at all. But this new one is pretty good, I must admit. Raw, simple and in your face. Similar to how I didn't like Hirax back in the day, but the latest Hirax have been good. Venom? "Antechrist" is my favorite song on the cd, and the rest of the songs just kinda sound the same. Hmmm, I was really excited about this cd, but then I heard it, and it was definatly not as good as I would have anticipated. "House Of Pain" and "Metal Black" are pretty cool tracks too, but this cd is missing something. . . You can see a complete list of all Venom discography, or go back to the Venom tabs
