Editoral Review The two CDs are strangely packaged in die-cut paper cases inside a loose-leaf notebook that includes sheets of paper with disco-era food, drink, and clothing suggestions. The usual suspects from a collection of 1970s disco kitsch are here (the Village People, Silver Convention, KC & the Sunshine Band, Donna Summer, Sister Sledge, Kool & the Gang, the Jacksons) with few surprises or recordings that anyone remotely alive back in the day will not instantly recall. It's an interesting idea, but not one that's pulled off with much thought or enthusiasm; the campy notes seem more like a dashed-off afterthought than anything else. It's a good gift idea for the person who has never heard much disco music or for those who lack the most basic disco records, but one wishes that more effort were put into an inspired song selection than the weird nostalgia served up in this package. --Mike McGonigal ..
