Warning! This is an under-par cd, it has it's ups and it's downs just like every cd. First of all I would like to say that I'm a very big ska fan and the only other VGS album I own is The Band Geek Mafia, which I thought was better than this. When I first bought this cd I was very excited. I new this would be good because I heard some of there other stuff which was awesome! Unfortunately I was disapointed. This opens with "Voodoo Anthem" which in my opinion is the best song on the cd. It hits you hard and has very catchy,speedy lyrics with fast vocals, and horns. The next song "Steady As She Goes" is also great! I was very excited when I heard these songs, it really does pump you up. After this it goes downhill. The songs run together and the vocals are AWFUL. The vocals sound like Catch 22 but they are a lot lower and it's like he's mumbling the words in a low pitched voice. However after tracks 3-11 it has one good song (The Basketball Song) that should have ended this album but they had to ruin it and put in a stupid untitled filler! But this cd also has a few highlights. There are about three or four good songs and the rest are just awful. I have to give props to the horn players, VGS has the fastest horns you will EVER find! i wish this album could have been all instrumentals. The length of this album is around 40 minutes which isn't bad because the songs arn't that long which is another good thing. Overall the highlights of this album are about four good tracks and that's it. If I were you I woulnd't encourage you to buy this. It gets very repetitive and it only frusterates me to think how much potential this band has and they just couldn't make anything good. Don't buy this even if you're a ska fan. . . . you will be disapointed. Steady as She Goes!!! Good old fashion ska. Voodoo Glow Skulls never stop entertaining me. They are a truly talented group. These guys, even though they are radio friendly, are one of my favorite bands of all time. This CD is probably their best. Buy this and Symbolic today. Trust me, you won't regret it!. Undeniably great... Voodoo has done slightly better... While I still love the old releases a tiny bit more. Steadily stomping hard into a raging pit of guitars, horns, and ska-bop-slamming grooves, Voodoo makes the switch to Victory with style. . . This is Voodoo, tried and true, keeping it real just for you. As the CD ends I don't really have the need to press play again, meaning this does not leave me begging for more. Stands tall on it's own, but this is much more aggressive and downtrodden than I remember the Skulls being. . . A welcome addition to any VGS' fan out there, sturdy, stiff and erect as a flag. Was worth buying even if the only songs on it were: Voodoo Anthem, Steady As She Goes, and Nada En La Cabeza. So great For some reason, i always think that VDGS is the ska version of Pennywise. This has got to be the best cd i have bought in a long time. But anyway, this cd is one of the greatest ska/punk cds i have ever heard. you wont be disappointed. voodoo+pirates=sweet album this album is soo sweet that it even gave willy wonka a head rush! the fast, furious horns are back and still as crazy with the arrival of new trumpet player mason ball. the voodoo glow skulls are back again with another totally sweet album. totally sweet album that got me so pumped up that i almost kicked my mom in the face. if you love the voodoo glow skulls you'll totally cream yourself when you hear this release. . . really.
