Customer Reviews
Tasteful, addictive, and multi-faceted
I agree wholeheartedly, and I can't add very much to what's been said already. If you've already read the foregoing reviews, you can see an overwhelming trend to consider this cd as one of the very best. However, I like the CD so much that I had to write something about it. The guitar licks are just right. . . . . Joe makes the most unique and characteristic statements, and on this album, the drumming is also similarly appropriate to the songs. If you have a friend who really doesn't know too much about Joe Walsh, but is a thoughtful,music-loving person, this would be a perfect gift for them. It's so much fun to share things you love, and to see them appreciated by others.

Great little budget Joe Walsh package of his ABC Dunhill stuff!!!
While these budget packages are usually hit or miss, this one hit's the bullseye!!! Lots of great Joe Walsh tunes from his ABC Dunhill era are here,Rocky Mountain Way,Meadows,County Fair,Time Out,Days Gone By(with great flute and vocals by the very underated drummer Joe Vitale),Turn to Stone and more!!! Great sound too!!! It rocks!!! 10 great tracks in all!!! Had it on audio cassette and now got it on a awesome sounding CD!!! Two thumbs up!!! Way Up!!! A+.

Had it for ages, still loving it.
The trippy, earthy, and yet very straightforward songwriting just rocks all the way through, and stays fresh over repeated listenings. This may well be the greatest CD ever for long car rides (Warren Zevon's Excitable Boy is up there too). It's interesting to listen to the nuances, but it's laid-back presentation makes casual listening almost as rewarding. Of course, everyone knows the title track "Rocky Mountain Way," and that is certainly a monster track. But there are many lesser-known songs that are also very good. Days Gone By has always been one of my favorite Joe Walsh songs, as well as the weirdly satisfying Wolf. Meadows is not particularly original sounding, but still a great tune. Joe always manages to put his own awesome style into everything, even when total originality escapes him. His guitar playing is never about speed or technical perfection, but something about it just assures you - this guy can play. I think I paid some ridiculously low price for this CD, but it was nonetheless money well-spent, and I believe you will agree.
