Walsh was as busy as ever during the eighties
During the eighties, however, Walsh was as busy as ever, contributing songs to film soundtracks (Urban Cowboy, Fast Times at Ridgemont High), enjoying solo hits ("All Night Long," "Waffle Stomp," "In My Car"), and working with friends like Joe Vitale, Ringo Starr, and John Entwistle. Joe Walsh will probably be remembered for his work with the James Gang, his stint with the Eagles, and songs like "Rocky Mountain Way," "Meadow," and "Life's Been Good" (which, I'll admit, is a resume worth remembering). The overlooked "I Can Play That Rock & Roll" is, unfortunately, a Walsh classic destined for the "wastelands of forgotten media" (as the great Peter Frampton so aptly puts it).

Truely a One Of a Kind Talent!
He is one of my personal favorites even today! I have all of his albums. Joe Walsh is one of the Best Artists from from his era. And, since I have favorite songs from each. I decided to put them all together on one CD. And, what an Awesome CD that is. I never get tired of Listening to this Guy! Memory Lane, Rockets, Class Of 65, Certain Situations, Vote For Me,
Slow Dancing, Decades. . . . In my opinion, These are some of his best songs. He is an unusual Artist in many ways. A talent to be appreciated!!.

you bought it you name it
wonderful wordsmith - with timeless application. Classic Joe - part of his transition to eagle-hood. especially well written - the worry song, here we are now, and of course ILBT's. .

J. Walsh - You Bought
But, the half was a have to get. This is a 50/50 work for me because about half I love and half I don't care.

One of my favorite albums from the early '80's...
Previously, the only Walsh album I'd bought was '81's 'There Goes The Neighborhood', which definitely had its high and low points. I fondly recall purchasing this album back in '83 while stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Personally, I found 'You Bought it, You Name it' a more consistently listenable effort, with my favorite tunes being 'Love Letters', 'Class of '65', and of course 'I. L. B. T's' which only recently (2005) became a requested favorite here in Nashville on the local classic rock station. It wasn't long after this album and similar efforts were released that rock and roll was soon pushed aside by candy pop and ear-splitting rap, a fact that makes me treasure such classic tunes even more in my 'middle age'. . . thanks again, Joe.
