Doc and the Boys: I've been looking for this for years!
I recently had the opportunity to see Doc Watson live at the Rhythm & Roots festival in Bristol, TN. I first heard these songs about 20 years ago on a reel-to-reel tape player when I was a teenager. The memories of hearing songs like The Tennessee Stud, Southern Lady, and Southbound Passenger Train came rushing back and I began my search for Doc and Merle Watson songs to add to my library. I was pleasantly surprised to find this double album on Amazon and wasted no time making the purchase. I promptly added this CD to my iTunes library, gave the songs 5 Stars, and have been listening to it everyday since. This is a MUST HAVE if you appreciate the talents of Doc Watson. I would also suggest the original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's, Will The Circle Be Unbroken Vol. 1. Another fantastic collection of music and artists, including Doc Watson. Enjoy!.


Live and Pickin' is Kickin'
I used to love the train sounds on Streamline Cannonball and tried to imitate on my harmonica. My dad introduced me to this album on vinyl when I was 5 yrs old. When CD burners came to our computers a few years back I took the time to painstakingly dub track by track this album from vinyl to CD (scratches and all). It was unreleased on CD at that time. Now, fortuately you folks don't have to do what I did. I'm ordering.


None Better
Don't even think about it. I've listened to, owned, and own all kinds of Doc Watson, met him backstage, saw him with different folks and I'm here to tell you: Doc & the Boys is simply the best Doc and Merle you can get your hands on. Get this CD.


Waited and waited
When it did, he said "THIS is what I want for Christmas!!". My husband has been waiting for this wonderful album to come out on CD for years.
