weak rock album
Almost sounds like a home-recording. Don't purchase this CD unless you really enjoy weak Joe Cocker-ish vocals, lame lyrics and mundane musicianship (particularly the guitars). if you're interested in classic rock-type music there are a million better albums out there.
.

Pure class!!!!
I never get tired of it as it always manages to take me away from wherever I am and in my book is faultless. Very simple, this is one of the best albums ever recorded and shows the full range of weller's vocals that surpasses anything.

Sorry, The Fire HAS Gone Out
I don't care what anyone else says, The Style Council was Weller's creative apex (most people don't appreciate truly good food either). All sane people agree that The Jam was huge on so many levels. Wildwood is perhaps the best of Weller's solo material but c'mon, it's a shell of his former brilliance. So much of it is generic and forgettable. I saw him live in LA this summer and it was fine, but the creative well of new material is dry.

A Modern Trad-Rock Classic
Elements of Traffic, Small Faces, Beatles, and Stones are all evident and combined to perfection. "Wild Wood" is both Paul Weller's best recording and the best contemporary take on classic British rock. In short, if you think they stopped making great albums around 1972, pick up this disc!.

Truly classic and organic..
'Wild Wood' truly got me through. If I had to recomend a top 10 albums to have this just might make it. It was 1 of those albums I played over and over exclusivly for several months. Paul job VERY WELL DONE!.
