Great CD that no one knows about It is performed in Japan in front of what sounds like a room of 20 very lucky people. Great acoustic CD featuring David Coverdale and Adrian Vandenberg. Great sound quality and a really enjoyable CD. Seller shipped the CD fast, it arrived in good condition and exactly as stated in product description. Great seller and would have no problem buying from again.
"in puris naturalibus"
Speechless about Mr. Among the unplugged rock performances i have experienced lifetime, this is the most outstanding one. Coverdale's vocal performance. I believe, no one on the earth could add more to these songs performing them. But feel I must also note that Mr. Vanderberg's existance adds what ever needed to flourish.
This is a unique example to show nothing is needed more to rock then a man singing accompanied by a guitar.
Highly reccomended not only for Whitesnake fans but also anyone who would like to listen music at the purest soulfull state.
.
A nice effort...
I've been a Whitesnake fan for quite a long time already, but what can I say about this album? As far as I'm concerned David Coverdale has done an amazing work in whatever he's ever been involved with. . So this album doesn't fail my expectations at all. . . All of the songs flow really well and sound great too even if they're in a stripped down format, which means that as artists they have good dynamics (meaning that they're able to make the songs any way they desire). . Plus as mr. Coverdale confesses in the inner sleeve of the album and in many interviews, their songs are written in acoustic guitars,so everything must have come out quite naturally. .
Apart from some "mistakes" (not really that traceable) that are natural to live performances (of this kind especially) that mr. Vandenberg does,it sounds really live and straightforward, which I'd describe it(if I was allowed to lend a description of a previous reviewer)as if it is actually played in your own room,or house for that matter. . So good are the production values of the album itself. .
Ending this "review" I'm gonna finish with one other line of the inner sleeve:Fast,Slow,Loud or Soft as long as the integrity and emotional essence is intact. . . And this live album has both of those traits.
It's like having David and Adrian in your living room!
My hint: Take a woman to your house, play this CD, open the wine and the rest. Awesome, it's a very interesting CD, but it's not completely diferent from what Whitesnake did as i've been reading, but it's too damn good. . . well the rest you know. . . . .
If you don't know or don't like whitesnake, try this one first. Sure you will love it.
Sit back and relax to Whitesnake!
An outstanding live, acoustic album. I never thought I would be using the words "relax" and "Whitesnake" in the same sentence, but there you have it. This is probably the best one I've ever heard. It's a great example of how simple can really be better. David singing and Adrian on guitar and nothing else! The small audience and the intimate setting only serves to heighten the feeling of David singing live in your living room! A great album to relax to and soothe your nerves after a hard day. As a side note, I understand that David also performed "Fool For Your Loving" which was not included on this album for some reason. He also attempted Adrian's "Burning Heart," but this was not included as he forgot the words!.
