Whitesnakes "Chronicles" some sort of ode to CD's time capsule They've been called everything from metal-glam to hard rock, and now are probably fading into the "classic rock" territory, although even that can be argued. The high points of this is that for a small amount of money you are getting three of the best studio albums Whitesnake offers. However, I'm not here to argue, just review this product, which for the most part, I'm pleased with. The strange thing about "Chronicles" is that there is not necessarily anything really special about it. It will look cool on your shelf, but if you already have the albums then it's redundant to have. The booklet opens up to hold 2 CD's in one side and a 3rd in the other, while the 4th compartment on its second "page", if you will, holds all three liner notes for the featured albums CD's. The three albums included are: Slide it in (1984) Whitesnake (1987) and Slip of the tongue (1989). The cover of the Chronicles package bears the cryptic stone WS Seal that is also seen on a few of their albums. There really isn't much effort that went into this, as most fans probably wanted something with a little more innovation in terms of unreleased tracks, B-sides, or Booklets on band history. As I said in the headline, it's almost like some sort of time capsule to hang on to the CD's of this band that garnered them so many fans over the years. Just judging the three albums aside from the packaging, I'd give them a collective four stars.
