Good to be Excellent
I was so wrong and I'm very glad I took the leap of faith and bought it. I have to confess I hesitated to buy this album; I've always been a Whitesnake fan but I thought I would discover a mediocre release like many other heavy metal bands from the 80s that have tried to come back after 20 years. Nothing short of extraordinary. David Coverdale's voice - just like wine - gets better with age; and Coverdale masterfully assembled an outstanding set of musicians.

What you won't find in this album: a rock anthem like Here I Go Again and a power ballad like Is This Love. But if your soul fills with energy when you listen to Still of The Night, that's what you'll feel with every song in this album. Thank you David for giving me such pleasure!.

New Whitesnake
Love this CD, music and lyrics are great!!! David Coverdale shows us that he is still going strong and I just love it!!!!.

An excellent effort
a good album. Chris's guitar playing is getting better and better every album. . . Dave magic on vocals as always. . .

BLOWN AWAY!!!
I wasn't aware this album existed and i came across it by accident, and i'm very glad i did! 1 great song after another! I'm usually skeptical when rock giants of the 70's and 80's bring out new material (post millenium) as almost always they fail to capture their essence and chemistry that propelled them along in their heyday, but in my opinion this cd seems to be the exception to the rule with most of the album being very solid, the only criticism is maybe to many ballads (3) probably should have settled on 1. As i'm not a diehard fan ( I love some of their music but have only a couple of their cd's). Anyway i love this album and if your an 80's hard rock nut like me i think you will too! .

Whitesnake Reinvented
Every song on it is top notch. This is a very enjoyable album to listen to. Coverdale's voice is still great as ever, the musicianship and fluency is great, and the overall vocabulary and texture of songs are varied without losing punch. The guitar work is extraordinary and reminds me of an updated sound of the 1987 release of Whitesnake. Back then, critics said that Coverdale had reinvented himself and the band. With this release, and after years of hybernation, my opinion is that Coverdale has reinvented his music and band all over again. .
