One of the first concept records.
Not to mention the musical content of the record, which also works. Like THE WALL, and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, the record tells a story, through music and characterization, and achieves this quite well. A real departure for the WHO at this point, because they were struggling to right hit singles, and weren't really a hit singles type of band. They were always more of a live band, and this record worked well for them when played live.


The Who Tommy CD
I am sending back #2 for the same problem. I have received two albums; returned the first album because CD#2 would not be recognized by any of the four CD players I put it in. I would think others have had this issue and it is not corrected. I will send #2 back for a refund.


Tommy by The Who
Probably the best and most important piece of rock music ever written. Pete Townshend's finest hour.


Astonishing....
The music, lyrics and sound are just amazing on this CD. It's been decades since I listened to this on the original LP. One of the Who's masterpieces. Mindblowing.

I prefer Amazon over any other website. It was something I wanted to get so I bought it.
