1973 THE WHO Record.
Although, Quadrophenia, might have been a heavier rock record, than Tommy. Musically, Tommy might be a better record, it's hard to say. In any case, Quadrophenia successfully, combines a conceptual story, with music, in a unique way. Which only Pete Townshend, with The Who, can deliver.

Brings back old memories
I was pleased that the product I received was brand new and in good new condition within a few days of the order. It's been a long time since I heard this music.

Very Good Stuff, but what's the story about?
Anyone who's seen the movie post it in the commments, and let me know if it's worth seeing. I know "Tommy" was about a deaf, dumb, and blind kid who could play a mean pinball, but what was this opera all about? I know that I can catch some bits and pieces, but if I want the real story I may have to watch the movie. Most of these songs I have heard over and over again on the radio, so I am familiar with the material. I feel that "The Real Me" and "I've Had Enough" could've been rants and raves from unfufilled wishes from the 60's. I mean you go out to change the world, and after all it's said and done what have you accomplished? Nothing ever changes. Other songs like "The Punk and the Godfather" I heard it on the radio only once, and yet it still resonates in my heart don't ask me why. Then there's "5:15", "Doctor Jimmy" and "Love Reign O'er Me" all these pieces, and I don't know how they all go together. This is a more complex opera, and I guess that's why I haven't been able to appreciate it more. As I said I will have to watch the movie now. .

The greatest rock opera masterpiece in rock and roll history
Every piece is arranged together wonderfully, and it most likely has reached out to millions of all ages across several generations, and will probably continue to do so. More than just the soundtrack to a movie, or the soundtrack to everybody's lives in the midst of teenage angst or frustration with the state of the world. If I was alive in the 60s, I would have been honored to experience the music scene the way it was, real genuine original and raw. But virtually everything has lost appeal nowadays.

Masterful Tour de Force
Overlooked and misunderstood by many calling themselves Who fans. The power and majesty of the songs "Quadrophenia", "The Rock" and "Love Reign O'er Me" provide a breathtaking backdrop to this masterpiece by The Who. Those who cherish The Who and, of course, Townshend's, phenomenal gifts know that this effort picks up the threads that were temporarily laid aside for the commercially appealing "Who's Next". All the passionate angst, disillusionment and second guessing reappear here within Jimmy. Townshend goes back to the Who's roots and digs deep into our shared human insecurities and finds gold.
