A rocking country masterpiece Hank wrote the first five songs here including Dixie on my mind and Texas women, the two big hits and Ain't much more, a bluesy country song reminiscent of the kind of song that Jimmie Rodgers used to sing fifty years earlier, although Hank wrote it and recorded it in his own style. This, from 1981, is one of Hank's finest albums, demonstrating what good, rocking country music is all about.
Rambling man is one of his father's many classic songs. Covers of songs by the Allman Brothers (I got a right to be wrong), Merle Haggard (Footlights), Alabama (Tennessee river) and Waylon Jennings (Are you sure Hank done it this way) complete the album. Of course, Hank Junior's father didn't do it this way but nobody knows how his music would have developed had he lived longer.
If you enjoy hard rocking country music, you'll love Hank's music.
