BEAUTIFUL & SOULFUL~BRAVO JACKIE!
Jackie Wilson rose to Superstardom at the same time as Elvis and the King himself was in awe of Jackie and it has been reported that Elvis would slide in to the Vegas showroom whenever Jackie appeared and was blown away by his awesome voice and tremendous performing skills. . Elvis was one of the few who visited and tried to give help to Jackie after a near fatal collapse on stage that left the legendary singer hospitalized the last decade of his life. These sublime 70's lp's were made near the end of his brilliant career and find Jackie in superb vocal form in a great program of songs giving his all. . . grab this treasure while it is available as any Jackie Wilson recordings from Chicago are his finest and it is clear Jackie was on a up-swing when these peerless & wondrous recordings were made. Bravo Jackie Wilson and you are missed!!! .

Jackie's Last Two Albums.
I think Jackie was out of comission by this time. 1976 is when these albums were released. These Chicago recordings were interesting considering that James Jamerson is on bass on a bunch of the tracks.

Two lost classics
You can't call these "forgotten" classics, as they were never really appreciated when they were originally released, but if you want great singing with good arrangements, this is it. Two wonderful Chicago-style soul records from the early '70's. I'm a big fan of Jackie Wilson's voice, and I own quite a lot of his music, but I have to admit that he was usually not well-served by his arrangements - horrible easy-listening choirs in the background, dated and cheesy instrumentation. But his voice was a thing of awe and beauty. These two records on one cd represent him at his best, along with music and songs which almost do his voice justice. The title song "Nobody But You" will give you goosebumps!! No matter what you've heard by Jackie Wilson, whether it's "Lonely Teardrops" or "Your Love is Lifting Me Higher" or anything else, this is better.
