OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE; SUBSTANDARD RECORDING
Often tagged as Ann's younger sister, I always wanted to see what Nancy could accomplish on her own. I cannot think of a performer whose first solo work could be more anticipated than Nancy Wilson. There's no doubt she is a guitarist of extraordinary power and talent, so any performance should blow the roof off. And the performance on this album is amazing, as Nancy delivers more than anyone could have asked for. Except, and it's a big strike against this album, the quality of this recording is a near-disaster. One would have thought that the producers and engineers would have put together a much better production. Or, maybe they thought Nancy could rise above it? In any case, Nancy succeeds in her performance, but this one deserves a do-over.

Nancy Wilson, McCabes

This recording is terrible. Nancy Wilson is a fantastic performer.
The performance deserved better, because she is really putting on a great show. It is a shame that there is so much distortion and basically a lifeless recording of what was a wonderful night. Rate it 5 starts for the performance, and 1 star for the recording. Most of that credit probably goes to the mastering guys. Who knows what they had to do to drag a somewhat usable sound from the original tracks. .

Nancy, I think I love you
After purchasing Heart's "Alive In Seattle" DVD, I found myself wishing the camera would just stay on Nancy as she kicks, rocks and shreds on guitar. Although I've been a Heart fan for years (being old enough to have been a fan when they originally came out) I recently dialed up some Heart videos on YouTube, and now I'm on a whole new kick. Of course having been totally smitten, I just had to have this CD. Nancy Wilson is caricatured on the CD cover's poster as an angel with a small devil off to the side. This seems to be a fair representation, as she sounds like an angel when singing, but you can tell she's a bit mischeivous as well. After many of the songs she giggles a bit which makes things seem more personal and draws you in. This is a very laid back CD and is just perfect for those times when you want to just kick back and relax. Her singing and guitar playing are without a doubt top of the line. To be fair, I don't find this to be an album I would rave about, but it really is definitly worth having in your collection to fill out your more mellow moments. .

Nancy delivers
I wish she would make more records. I have always admired Nancy's guitar playing. This is a great record if you enjoy live and unplugged performances. In my humble opinion you can judge how good an artist really is in that type of environment. Nancy does not fall short and delivers an amazing performance with only a couple of backup singers doing harmony on a few songs. In other words, it is pretty much just her and her guitar. If you are a Nancy fan then I highly recommend this album.

Nancy Wilson is a shining star...
I have always been a Heart fan and this CD is very refreshing and more of the same great music you can always expect from Nancy Wilson.
