ex-bootleg? welcome! well, if only every bootleg could be like this, welcome! great music, great solos, great rock blues, winter at his best. this is the last of 5 pieces series of (i think) former bootlegs. great recordings. everybody should get this (and the remaining 4) cd. .
Bootlegs Rule!
Most bands and record companies have completely missed the boat on this. I challenge every band to put out a boot series as good as JW has. If you love boots you'll love Vol 5 for all the same reasons. Great, great stuff.
Boot leg for sure, with a smile.
As fan of Johnny's playing it's nasty, hot and energized. Having bought the previous 4 volumes and really enjoying them, I knew 5 was inevitable. The band is in fine form, so from a fan and performance perspective it's a good purchase. The down side is the sound quality.
Not brutal but not as good as the first 4. It of course was a recording from who knows where on who knows what what but it was not professional or ment to be released. So a true "boot" it is.
But hot live Johnny makes you forget about the sound quality. Enjoy it for the performance.
So 3 stars comes from sound quality and what seems as short disc, but the cuts are extended jams. 3rd degree and New York New York Stand out.
Johnny once again is not redundant in song selection on the disc.
