Anthology PLUS! The present CD, Playlist includes some rarer tracks from the "+ Justments" album, that have never been released on CD. Bill Withers' brief time in the spotlight as a recording artist resulted in several timeless albums and songs that have become standards - "Grandma's Hands", "Lean on Me", "Harlem"," Ain't No Sunshine" and the list goes on. The blogs ask the question "why"? and it remains a mystery as to why Legacy have overlooked this gem (similar questions can be asked as to why Tyrone Davis' output on Columbia is represented by 2 CDs, differing by 1 track between them). In any event, in the absence of a CD of "+ Justments" the two tracks presented (out of a total of 10 on vinyl) are a welcome addition to the Bill Withers' CD catalog.
There were rumors last year that Joe Henry was trying to coax Mr. Withers back into the studio - and we can all hope that this might eventually happen given Mr. Henry's work with Solomon Burke.
