Great cd!! I remember hearing "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" quite a bit on the radio back then, and I just knew I had to find out who this remarkable singer was. This was my first Trisha Yearwood purchase back in 1996. A Trisha Yearwood album is an experience from start to finish. She doesn't concern herself too much with what's going to be popular, she goes for the most artsy songs that carry a lot of meaning. Besides "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)", the title track was another #1 hit from the album. I think one of her most understated performances, and one of her most underrated songs that country radio passed on, is the heartfelt ballad "I Need You". This song truly shows Yearwood's range, going from subtle emotion, to effectively using her voice as an instrument to heighten certain lyrics in the song. It is definately one of my favorite ballads from her, and it was her best video in my opinion, though it has been scarcely seen since it's debut in 1997. The album is mostly ballad heavy, with some heart felt songs in the form of "Little Hercules", "Maybe It's Love", "It's Alright", "Under The Rainbow" and others. The album closer "A Lover Is Forever" is a must listen as well, great way to close off an excellent album. This import also features three bonus cuts, the bluesy "Even A Cowboy Can Dream", her cover of "Find A River" and the uptempo "The Chance I Take".
