go yellowcard! the first time i listened to this album it made me cry. this is the best yellowcard album! it was before they became really popular, so most people haven't heard of it. (not because its bad, thats a long story) this album has a lot of meaning to it. everyone should get this cd.
yellowcard's best
The style of songs is varied in this CD that never gets old. This is in my opinion Yellowcard's best album. The best songs are the acoustic ones, Something of Value and Rough Draft. But the rest is also excellent. Catchy and honest lyrics about real life experiences. You won't regret this purchase!!!!!.
Amazing!
It opens with "Starstruck" which got me hooked with the guitar intro. Yellowcard's first album with current singer, Ryan Key, blew me away the first time I heard it. Then there is the song "October Nights" which is without a doubt my favorite track on the album. This CD, in my opinion, was even better than "Ocean Avenue", the band's major-label debut. Every track on the album kept my attention and it is amazing to know that the guys wrote and recorded such high quality tracks their early 20s. It is a must have for the true YC fan, although, most true YC fans already own it.
Nice:)
It kinda lack the same rawness that you find in lights&sounds and ocean avenue, but it compencates with evene more hearable violin, so its still freakin good. Nice album a bit different from ocean avenue and lights and sounds but you can definitely hear that this is good stuff, this is yellowcard. I rate it as my second favourite album that these guys have ever made, and of course rate this album with 5 stars.
OFTK is LOVE
About The Songs:
The worst track off it is "Trembling", but the rest are perfection! "Rough Draft" was definatly a favorite because of it's meledy and beautiful lyrics(ex:Breathing in your skin tonight/Quiet is my loudest cry/Wouldn't wanna wake the eyes that make me melt inside) I immensely enjoyed the track "October Nights", it's crazy lyrics switched from one rhythm to another. Ok folks, this is the mother of all albums, in my opinion. "Cigarette" is slow, but has significant meaning(ex: I'll wait for you, If you would wait for me)
On A musical note:
I bow down to Sean mackin, because it's very hard to take an instrument known as used for "Classical Music" and incoperate it into a Punk song. As many have stated before, Yellowcard is not the first band to do this, but if they can make it mainstrean with a violin, that means alot. Of course they didn't go mainstream until OA, but this album I love even more!
My overall opinion of this album is that its spectacular musicianship, and lyrical genius, is the materials needed to make a product like this! I love it!
