Probably in the top 10 best rock albums ever recorded

But what I wanted to say about this masterpiece is that not only was it the first ever album I remember listening to as a small kid (picture a mop haired 3 year old with huge 70's cans on) but that I have never once in all of my 36 years felt bored of listening to it. I don't particularly take to writing music reviews, primarily because I agree with Zappa in this respect: talking about music is like fishing about architecture. I can't recall one period of my life when I didn't listen to One Size Fits All on a regular basis. It's quite possibly one of the best rock albums of all time, yet quirky enough to remain interesting no matter how many times you hear it.

Fans of Zappa's guitar playing will probably agree that he was at his absolute best during this period of the 70's - as many others have noted, his solo in Inca Roads is undoubtedly his finest. Zappa's chops deserve as close a listen as you're prepared to give them. . . underneath the raw madness, his phrasing is simply beautiful and you won't hear a better example of it than Inca Roads. Quite possibly the most tasteful guitar solo ever recorded. Not that his playing on the other tracks isn't fantastic as well - the solo in Pojama People remains one of my all time favorites too.

Don't even think twice about buying this sublime album - it's a lifetime investment and I mean that quite seriously. I loved it when I was 3 and I still love it now. .

One of Zappa's best!
Zappa goes from jazz to funk to symphonic all in one album!.

I love this album! I used to listen to it way back in the 80's! I had to buy it and it is as good as I remembered it.

One Size Fits All
Well it's far from his best. . but it's sure as hell his most coheisive release ever. One Size Fits All best sums up Frank Zappa's 1970's feel and sound with one solid swoop. Combining some of his greatest, most crative and eccentric arrangements with some of the greatest instrumentation he had ever played with, along side some of the most ridiculous lyrics he ever wrote. This works most of the time on tracks like the fabulous 'San Ber'dino' and not so well on others like the downright boring 'Florentine Pogen. '

Something must be said for songs like the Xylophone infected 'Inca Roads' and the killer 'Po-Jama People' with it's over the top guitar solo that makes even the strongest of Zappas work blush. And with the German sang closer 'Sofa No. 2' it may not be Zappa and the Mothers of Inventions best work but it is easily one of the most entertaining and commercially exceptable.

It does fit
From Inca Roads to Evelyn, a Modified Dog, to Sofa #2, this 'album' takes you on a trip through the mind of the most creative and most prolific composer in modern history. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite Zappa discs. Zappa was so far ahead of his time as to be ridiculed and demeaned by all but the most talented musicians. I think the great composer's time is coming. This disc will help those of you who are unfamiliar, become familiar. Those who already know and love him have to own this. "Arf", she said. .

For the Jazz Fusion Fans....Zappa's best
The never cross the line into being distractingly ridiculous. Great collection with tolerably absurd lyrics. The melodies here are VERY strong, and FZ's guitar solo on Inca Roads, his best ever. Chester Thompson's drumming is loose and fluid and George Duke is doing his thing singing and playing brilliant keyboards. One of Zappa's absolute best.
