ZOmbie) is one hell of a listen too. only reason i bought this album is b/c i wanted the metallica song i disappear, but upon playing it all the way through i found out scum of the earth (R. . . but the rest of the cd sucks balls.
A decent mission
I remember when this movie came out and I ran to buy the soundtrack, but you don't care about that so lets get straight to the track listing. After coming off the rush that is MI:3 I had to pop this CD back in my player and relive the days when this was all I listened to. The opening track 'Take a Look Around' which is the theme song done by Limp Bizkit is a decent track. Limp was on top of their game back in 2000 and so it's only fitting they rest at the top of the pack. 'I Disappear' is one of the worst tracks Metalica ever released. . . I mean, they repeat the same words over and over and the song has absolutly nothing worth remembering other than some decent riffs and a kick@$$ music video. Rob Zombie gladdly serves up some brilliant techno-metal with 'Scum of the Earth' and Butthole Surfers come back full force with 'They Came In'. Godsmack serve up another hit as does Apartment 26 with 'Backwards' which is one of the best tracks here. This song is what turned me onto this band. . . love them now. I'm not a huge fan of the Powderfinger song listed here, but I did check them out after hearing this album and their debut album is actually pretty good. The best track here though is Tori Amos' beautiful and titilizing 'Carnival' which is out of place yet so the right song to include as the album winds down. I love it! All in all, while it has a few rough spots, this is a great album to own and play over and over.
The mission was half possible
I got this when I was in 7th grade I believe so that makes sense. I got this CD because I wanted to figure out what kind of music I wanted to listen to, and basically discover more bands. Well what I got here was a mixed batch. Half good music, half crap. Most of the great music lies in the first half of the CD. Now I shall go into the classic breakdown of the record. What I noticed though was that barely any music from here was played in the movie at all (except the Limp Bizkit song)
1. Take a look around by Limp Bizkit: 7/10 In all honesty Limp Bizkit suck, and this song was played constantly throughout the movie, (which bored me bay the way) but this is definitely one of "Da Bizkit's" better songs.
2. I Disappear by Metallica: 9/10 A good song released by Metallica before they released St. Anguish.
3. Scum of the earth by Rob Zombie: 9/10 Great Rob Zombie song, but get his album instead.
4. They Came in by Butthole Surfers: 10/10 This is the song that really got me into the BHS, Now one of my favorite bands of all time, this song is the only song released from their Unreleased Album After the Astronaut so its quite nice to have it as a gem.
5. Rocket Science by the Pimps:8/10 A nice, cool song, but technically nothing special.
6. Have a Cigar by Foo Fighters and Brian May: 8/10A nice Pink Floyd cover
7. Mission 2000 by Chris Cornell: 5/10 I can tolerate this
8. Going Down by Godsmack: 10/10 GREAT!!!!!!
9. What U Lookin' At? By Uncle Kracker (produced by Kid Rock): 0/10 WOW BOTH THESE GUYS SUCK! Why they throw Rock's Name on there is simply for eye candy and it doesn't matter, Uncle Kracker is much like a one hit wonder.
10. Backwards by Apartment 26: 10/10 This song introduced me to Apt. 26 and they rocked. Their Hallucinating CD absolutely Rocked (Unfortunately they seemed to have broken up).
11. Karma by Diffuser: 7/10 it's a fun song but nothing more.
Tracks 12-16 I don't care to talk about or even title them because they are all 0/10!
So there you go. Normally this should earn a 2 star rating but I have to respect it because otherwise I would have never found out about Apartment 26 or been convinced to listen to more Butthole Surfers. Now as for you buying this record, I would suggest just going out and buying the CDs of the bands you like that are on here. If you are looking for a place to start in the world of music like I did, then I would avoid this as it is a mixed bag and no one here seems to like ALL the songs. Hope this helped.

Not the best MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK.
K. O. I bought this album about four years ago. To be honest, I don't like this one that much, to be honest, I don't like any MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK at all. I've got two soundtracks: this one and "BATMAN & ROBIN". After I bought both of them, I decided to stay away from these motion picture soundtracks.
The only good songs on this album are the first three and a couple more, don't worry 'cause I'll state them, the rest of them are pure garbage:
1. - "Limp Bizkit: Take A Look Around (Theme from "M:I-2)". - I think for everyone, this one is the best on this album. I'm not that much of a LIMP BIZKIT fan, but I like a couple of songs from them. But if you want to listen to this one, then I suggest you buy the album "CHOCLATE STARFISH AND THE HOT DOG FLAVORED WATER", that album is way better than this one and it includes on of their best dongs ever including this one. - 4/5.
2. - "Metallica: I Dissapear". - The other great song on this album, not that great, but one of the best. - 4/5.
3. - "Rob Zombie: Scum Of The Earth". - For me, the hardest rock song on this album. Better than "I Dissapear". I like this band more than LIMP BIZKIT. But if you want to listen to this one buy their album "The Sinister Urge". It is way better than this album. - 5/5.
4. - "Butthole Surfers: They Came In". - This song SUCKS. - 0/5.
5. - "The Pimps: Rocket Science". - O. K. Not as bad as others, but I don't like this one that much. - 3/5.
6. - "Foo Fighters and Brian May: Have A Cigar". - I don't like this one at all. Baaad. - 1/5.
7. - "Chris Cornell: Mission 2000". - This one sucks big time. One of the worst. - 0/5.
8. - "Godsmack: Going Down". - Not as bad as others either, but still I don't like it. - 2/5.
9. - "Uncle Kracker produced by Kid Rock: What U Lookin' At". - Probably this one is better than "I Dissapear". . . but. . . I don't know. - 5/5.
10. - "Apartment 26: Backwards". - Another one that SUCKS. Damn. This album kinda sucks too. - 0/5.
11. - "Diffuser: Karma". - Good. Doesn't suck that much as others. - 3/5.
12. - "Buckcherry: Alone". - Don't like it at all. - 1/10.
13. - "Tinfed: Immune". - Another one I don't like. - 2/5.
14. - "Powderfinger: My Kinda Scene". - The best in this album. I love this one. Finally. - 5/5.
15. - "Tori Amus: Carnival". - SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS. - 0/5.
16. - "Hans Zimmer featuring Heitor Pereira: Nyah". - Bit of a Mexican song. I like it. - 4/5.
See. This soundtrack SUCKS. Now. . . speaking about the movie. . . I went to the movies to watch this one, it was full of action and smart scenes. I give the movie: 7/10. But the first one was. . . WOW. . . I loved it even though I had eight or nine years when I watched it, I understood it perfectly. The scenes are truly very smart, it has a great content and story, great dialogue and enough action, for me. I know it is abvious tha the second movie has alot more action and chases, but I liked the first better. I give Misson: Impossible a 10/10. I loved that one.
Remember. . . don't buy this crap, you would be doin' a very very big mistake like I did, if you only want this album because of the theme song from LIMP BIZKIT, buy the album CHOCOLATE STARFISH AND THE HOT DOG FLAVORED WATER instead, that album is way better than this one. If you only want this album because of ROB ZOMBIES's "Scum Of The Earth", which I love by the way, then buy the album: "The Sinister Urge". But whatever you do:
DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!.
