ZZ Top was one of my favourite bands in the mid 80s and the reason for this was their albums Eleminator and Afterburner. It is now 25 years since they did Eleminator and it still holds the time.
Band: ZZ Top
Title: Eliminator (Collectors edition)
Format: CD + DVD
This 25 years anniversary compilation has the 11 tracks from the album, sharp in sound as original, but also 7 bonus tracks with 5 live versions and two alternative versions of Legs. And there is more, a whole DVD with all the classic videos so good that MTV, VH1 and other stations still have them in rotation.
I know that some of their albums can sometimes be tiring, but at the best this band is killer. Eleminator is almost non-stop hits and classics.
ZZ Top is a rock band formed in late 1969 in Houston, Texas, and the band holds the distinction of being among the few rock bands still composed of its original members for nearly 40 years! Not bad. Texas is also a keyword to describe the blues-rock they produce.
ZZ Top reached peak commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s. They still release albums but fans, at least me, is most interested in the mid 80s albums. Eliminator is full of good rock with a bluesy feeling, mixed with dark synthesizer sound woven into the guitar-bass-drums formula. A classic!
Comes in a digipack with good liner notes. For all fans of ZZ Top, this is a must-have.
