Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 12:30:30 -0800 (PST) From: Robert Mulkern Subject: c/carlile_brandi/what_can_i_say.crd >From BoB Mulkern at rmulkern@yahoo.com What Can I Say ~V Brandi Carlile performance, track 2 on the ~SBrandi Carlile~T CD, written by her fellow guitarist and backup vocalist Tim Hanseroth A beautiful tune ~V can sound a little churchy or gospel like if played to sincerely. Please note I have scripted three separate bridges since she omits the Bm resolve in the first bridge and repeats the whole bridge (with both Bm and D resolutions) twice at the end of the tune. One may also fine it easier to go from the bar chord Bm to a bar chord G, rather than to a standard open G (with or w/o B string D), when transitioning from verse to bridge or within a bridge. This is of course my own transcription of the tune, BoB Mulkern. Intro: D, Dsus, D, Dsus~E(till you~Rre ready to drop into the song with a plunge to the A chord (Dsus = D with the little finger hitting a G note on the high E string instead of the F#) Verse 1 A D G Look to the clock on the wall G D A Hands hardly moving at all A D G I can~Rt stand the state I~Rm in G D A Bm Sometimes it feels like the wall~Rs closing in Bridge 1 G D A Bm Oh Lord what can I say G D A Bm I~Rm so sad since you went away G D A Bm Time time tickin on me G D A Bm Alone is the last place I wanted to be G A D Lord what can I say D, Dsus,~Eetc till you~Rre ready Verse 2 A D G Try and burn my troubles away G D A Drown my sorrows (the) same way A D G It seems no matter how hard I try G D A Bm It feels like there~Rs something just missing inside Bridge 2 G D A Bm Oh Lord what can I say G D A Bm I~Rm so sad since you went away G D A Bm Time time tickin on me G D A Bm Alone is the last place I wanted to be G A Bm Lord what can I say G A D Oh what can I say D, Dsus, D, Dsus, etc~E Verse 3 A D G How many rules can I break G D A How many lies can I make A D G How many roads must I turn G D A Bm To find me a place where the bridge hasn~Rt burned Bridge 3 (repeat twice) G D A Bm Oh Lord what can I say G D A Bm I~Rm so sad since you went away G D A Bm Time time tickin on me G D A Bm Alone is the last place I wanted to be G A Bm Lord what can I say G A D Oh what can I say End: D, Dsus, D, Dsus, etc~E Hope you enjoy it!
