Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 19:34:17 -0400 From: mark jones (by way of cathal woods) Subject: d/dashboard_confessionals/shirts_and_gloves.crd Dashboard Confessionals - "Shirts and Gloves" (Swiss Army Romance) tabbed by Mark Jones (email: dntn31@yahoo.com) This is such a great song, and it is easy to play which makes it even better. I have to give credit to my friend Dennis who introduced me to Dashboard and who taught me how to play it. This is my first tab so I hope it is easy to read and I hope everyone enjoys this song and playing it as much as I do. The song is played with only an acoustic guitar and in standard E tuning. I would emphasize to try and change the dynamics of your playing when you reach the beginning of "phrase 2." The song is strummed pretty heavily in phrase 1 and then becomes really soft at the beginning of phrase 2. On phrase 3 feel free to throw any arpegiations that sound good for variety. phrase 1: e--3---3---0-0--00-0-0---0-0---xx-------------------------- B--0---0---0-0--00-0-0---0-1---xx--0----0------------------ G--0---0---0-0--00-0-0---2-2---xx--0----0------------------ D--0---0---2-2--22-2-2---2-2---xx--5----5------------------ A--2---2---2-2--22-2-2---0-0---xx--3----3------------------ E--3---3---0-0--00-0-0---------xx-------------------------- phrase 2: e---------------------------------------------------------- B---------------------0--0--0-xx-7--7--7----7-------------- G---------------------0--0--0-xx-7--7--7----7-------------- D--5555555555555555---5--5--5-xx-7--7--7----7-------------- A--7777666655554444---3--3--3-xx-5--5--5----5-------------- E---------------------------------------------------------- prhase 3: e---------------------------------------------------------- B-----------------------0---------------------------------- G-----0-------0-------0-----<0>----------<0>--<0>---------- D---9---0---7---0---5---------<5><0>-----<7>----<4><0>----- A-10------9-------7-------------------3---5---------------- E---------------------------------------------------------- phrase 1 phrase 2 phrase 1 phrase 2 phrase 3(x4 w/ variations) repeat everything once questions or comments mail me at dntn31@yahoo.com
