From: "Michael Hall" Subject: g/grateful_dead/brokedown_palace.tab Date: Sat, 1 Dec 2001 00:01:24 -0500 Song: Brokedown Palace Artist: Grateful Dead Album: Dead Set (Live) I noticed that as far as Grateful Dead TAB goes, not much exists in terms of Jerry's solo's. The following is the complete solo from Brokedown Palace off their Live album "Dead Set". It's not too difficult to play, and he uses a very clean sound. I neglected to take great care writing out the timing because you should be able to acquainted with that by listening to the album. I did indicate song times where convenient. The original contributor only posted the chord progression. It looks correct, though I haven't actually played it along with the album, so I'm not sure if it's altered on "Dead Set" or not. I think Jerry's playing on an A Mixolydian, which is just a C scale using the A as the root note. I think this solo is as accurate as can be attained by ear. For difficult parts, I used "CD Looper" software which slowed the track down to 1/4 it's normal speed, to listen for vibrato and hammer-on's, etc. If you have any suggestions or corrections, please e-mail me: mah28@drexel.edu 4:23 E|------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------15--15--X--15~-----------------12-----------12-----------------| G|--/16---------------------14-P-12---14------14---14------14-P-12--------| D|------------------------------------------------------------------14~~--| A|------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----------------15-P-14--------| B|-------15~--15------------17~--| G|--/16--------------------------| D|-------------------------------| A|-------------------------------| E|-------------------------------| 4:39 E|---------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------| G|--14-/-16--16--14--12~-----14-H-15-H-16--12~~~-----| D|---------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------------------| 4:41 E|----------------------------------------------------------------| B|-12--12---15--15~~---15--12--12~-------15-P-12--17~~---15-------| G|------------------------------------------------------------16--| D|----------------------------------------------------------------| A|----------------------------------------------------------------| E|----------------------------------------------------------------| 4:58 E|-------------------------------------------------------| B|----------15--17--15-----------------------------------| G|--14-/-16-------------16--14~~---12-H-14-P-12----12~~--| D|-------------------------------------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------------------| E|-------------------------------------------------------|
