This is all my own work.
"Can't Stop the Music (He Played It Much Too Long)"
Hall & Oates
From the album "War Babies" (1974)
This is the lead-off song from the album, and also the only song
that Oates sings. And it's a good one. Not terribly difficult to
play, either, although you have to be a little creative since it's
not much of a guitar song. (There is a little bit of guitar in there,
but it's mostly keyboard/bass led). First I'll just lay out the
chords, then tab out my own guitar arragement below that.
Intro: A5(?)
G F#m Bm
Verse:
A D/A G/A D/A
"He's the star.."
(x4)
Chorus:
G F#m Bm D/E
Break:
A G/A C/A D/A
Verse/Chorus/Break repeat
Bridge:
Bm C#m D D/E A
Bm C#m D D/E
Verse/Chorus/Break
Outro:
A G/A
"Then we.."
Here's my shot at a solo guitar arragement. Standard Tuning, No Capo.

B-------5------5--------------3----------2------------3------------
G-----------------------------------------------------4------------

the second time)

D---4--------6-------7-------7--------7-------------------------------

Then, the outro ("Then we go like this and we go like that..") is
just these
two chords over and over:
