Artist: Hanson Song: When You're Gone Album: Underneath (Underneath Acoustic) Submitted by: madeline: resplendent_euphoria@yahoo.com Okay, I'm hoping to give you guys a straighforward, easy-to-follow, accurate version of this song. It's hella fun to play—just watch that you don't get spazzy like our good friend Taylor (see UA Live DVD)... Chords used: E: 022100 E7sus4: 020200 Asus: 002200 Esus4: 022200 Esus: 079900 Bsus: 099800 Asus*: 077600 (this one's got a star since it's played in a different place on the neck) intro: (E7sus4) | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 Well, I just can’t seem to pity E E7sus4 ‘Cause my heart’s too numb to feel E E7sus4 And the smile does all the talking E E7sus4 Though the pain is all that’s real E E7sus4 With the way that you keep screaming E E7sus4 I can hardly hear to think E E7sus4 And I feel the bridges burning E (E7sus4) Underneath my feet Chorus: Asus Where do you go, oh E Esus4 when you’re gone? Asus Where do you go, oh E Esus4 when you’re gone? Asus E Esus4 Oh, how the road feels so long Asus But where do you go, oh E when you’re gone? E E7sus4 I just want to stay dreaming E E7sus4 No, I just don’t want to wake E E7sus4 Why can’t we keep on sailing E E7sus4 Across this emerald lake? E E7sus4 My forehead is still bleeding E E7sus4 From the thorns I used to wear E E7sus4 And I’m left alone and beaten E For this cross I choose to bear CHORUS Esus Bsus Well, I finally found what I’m looking for Asus* E Though the road’s still long and the light is still far Esus Bsus Asus*-E But I finally found what I’m looking for Esus Bsus Well I finally found what I’m looking for Asus E Though the road’s still long and the light is still far Esus Bsus Asus*-E Asus*-E But I finally found what I’m looking for (E7sus4) | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 Well, the voices fall like timber E E7sus4 And the fear it pours like rain E E7sus4 And my heart is crushed to cinders E E7sus4 Underneath this kind of pain E E7sus4 Well, there is no resolution E E7sus4 When the revolution’s dead E E7sus4 So I’m left with no solution E E7sus4 For the voices in my head CHORUS (E7sus4) | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E E7sus4 | E ___________ Well, that's it. It perhaps looks a bit crazy, bit it's really actually very simple. I suppose that on the chorus, you could continue to play the E7sus4 instead of the Esus4, but I think the Esus4 sounds bettter. I figured this out against the UA Live version...Ejnoy!!
