                             The Ice Miner
                             by Leo Kottke


The Ice Miner is an early Kottke tune from the classic Mudlark album. Though 
it does not have the sophistication of his current work in open tunings, it 
is a very musical tune with the kind of nice compositional structure that is 
part of what makes Leo a great composer of solo acoustic guitar music. This 
particular transcription is as accurate as I could make it to the 
recording—other ways of playing the various parts would be mostly a matter 
of personal style. Open-G, 3/4 time, played capo 2 by Kottke.

John Boston and I are engaged in a mutual project to add songs to the newly 
addition, we are tabbing a few other things by other artists, including Leo 
Kottke. We will continue to post new Fahey tunes and songs by other artists 
as we get them together. We have several new Fahey tunes in preparation. We 
are only tabbing songs that have not been published officially, as far as we 
know.

We hope to spur some interest in Fahey's music, which has been the precursor 
of the artists represented there and we will continue to post tab for the 
archive in anticipation of the day it re-opens or relocates.
