Living In The Country
---------------------

Music By Pete Seeger
Arrangement by Leo Kottke

Tabbed by Rich Kucera and his trusty 1/2 speed Marantz

Thanks to fellow net.guitarist Andy Alexis for vital clues
There's also Pete Seeger's version printed in Mar94 Acoustic Guitar

Dropped-D Tuning

I find a 3-finger style(thumb "p", index "i", and middle "m")
to be more effective than using 4 fingers(not to mention 5).
It makes the velocity and attack easier to achieve. I also
recommend this approach for Busted Bicycle. If nothing else
it takes me out of my four finger rut(Kottke is rumored to have
twenty fingers, but I think he used only three of them for
this one). I'll make right hand fingering indications that
I think keep a regular momentum going(which includes picking
out a note here and there on the first and second strings with
the thumb).

The arrangement turned out to be deceptively simple. It's
chimey and gorgeous and very easy to get to from standard tuning.
It is definitely meant to be played on a twelve-string. I think
listening to the recording of it first is absolutely necessary
to get a feel for it since I've omitted timing indications(I'm too
lazy, but my guess is you're not going to want to bother to learn
it unless you've heard it played anyway).

"X" == mute the note e.g. ---X7---
"h" == hammer
"p" == pull off to that note
"\b" or "/b" == bend down or up to note
"\" or "/" == slide down or up
