I transcribed this track because I think it puts to rest all claims
that
Manring is purly a techician. The playng on this track is some of
the most
lyrical work I've heard on any instrument. There are very few
techically
difficult parts, but the note choice is inspired, and some of the
intervals
truly educational.

I think of this track as a Jaco tribute (c.f. "A remark you made").
I'd be
interested if anyone could confirm or drefuteny this interpretation.

Notes

1) The first verse is pretty easy. The main thing that
requires comment
is the slide at the end of the 7th bar. As I've been playing this
on fretted
I've notated it as a ghost bend - fret 19, and bend it to 20 before
sounding
the note, then drop it down and back again. Note that in the
decending phrase
(13-14 and 27-28) the trill on the D string is different the second
time.

2) The chorus is trivial, but illustrates some interesting
inversions.

3) The second verse is by far the hardest section. Appologies
for the
poor notation of phrasing here - carefull analysis of the album is
a must.

4) The outro section is straight forwards. The bass shifts to
the solo
after the second time through the theme. Again phrasing is
critical. The
only dificult phrase is the run in the 5th bar (any corrections to
this would
be appreciated). The second half of the outro is notated 1 octave
down, to
fit on a standard bass.

Hope you enjoy this transcription...
