Date: Fri, 6 Sep 2002 13:15:59 -0400 From: James A Kelley Subject: m/misc_traditional/loch_lomond.tab Scottish Traditional - Loch Lomond Artist - Traditional Tabber - JK This tab is all my own work, but I credit Kyle Giffin whose original version inspired me to play around with the chords and to write my own intro and solo. Loch Lomond INTRO. E G e--------0----------------3------------------------------- B--------2----------------2------------------------------- G--------2----------------0------------------------------- D--5-5-7-1------9-7-5-5-2-0------------------------------- A--------0----------------0------------------------------- E--------0----------------3------------------------------- VERSE/CHORUS G G C G G G G E(or Em) D G G C G G G G D G For the song, there are three strum patters used. [quarternote, eighthnote, eighthnote, quarternote, eighthnote eighthnote] Call this Strum Pattern #1 [halfnote] Call this Strum pattern #2 [eighthnote, eighthnote] call this strum pattern #3. Below is the chord progression seen above, this time with the strum pattern number next to the chord. G(1) G(1) C(1) G(1) G(1) G(1) G(1) E(2) D(3) G(1) G(1) C(1) G(1) G(1) G(1) G(1) D(2) G(3) This pattern can be used for the Verses and Chorus, due to the nature of the song. I wrote the following solo to capture the spirit of the song, while staying different from the exact melody. You can have a rythm guitar play the normal chords behind the solo, or others if you have ones you'd rather use. Feel free to fool around with my solo if you want, although I'd definitely be interested in what you write fo it, so please send it along if you wish.
