Artist: Primus
Album: Frizzle Fry
Song: To Defy The Laws Of Tradition

Guitar transcribed by CAM.

I've looked through the guitar tabs for Primus and saw that
most of the songs are missing and the existing ones need some
corrections, both minor and major.

All the Primus tabs I'll do will just give you the basic
structure. Listen to the song to figure out the strumming
pattern: use a funky style. Basically, if you're searching for
Primus tab, you MUST have the albums.
Again, listen to the song and use this tab as basic structure.

h =hammer on
p =pull off
b =bend string up
r =release bend
/ =slide up
\ =slide down
v =vibrato
t =tap with strumming hand
x =muted string strike
w =whammy

Intro:
Fade-in to first notes (v>)

   v>
e--15--------------<12>--------------------------------------
B--15p14-------<12>--------------------<7>-------------------
G------------------------------------------------------------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

e------------------------------------------------------------
B------------13w-12\-------------7---8---9-------------------
G---15w--------------------------7---8---9-------------------
D---14w----------------/9--------7---8---9-------------------
A---13w--------------------------5---6---7-------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

Basically, there are a few different sounding structures for
the verse. I'll give you the structures and you can put them
together by listening to the song. All the notes sound better
if you slide up and down between them, and use alot of muted
string strikes. Get funky.

#1: Play this first bar a few times, then before the singing
    starts, use bar#2.

e--12----10----9-10-9-----7-----9-10-9-----7-----9-10-9------
B------------------------------------------------------------
G--9-----7-----6-7--6-----4-----6-7--6-----4-----6-7--6------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

#2:
e--12----10----9-10-9-----7-----9-10-9-----------------------
B------------------------------------------------------------
G--9-----7-----6-7--6-----4-----6-7--6---4/6---6b--15t--6r---
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

During the singing, the verse is basically #3. Play it like it
is. After the pauses when Les sings, ("the child, or..."), etc.,
the first note back into the verse starts on the 12th fret,
[highlighted with a (!)] first on the G, then later on the D for
the next verse after he sings "would surely..."

#3:

e--x--x-x--10-9--10-9---7---9-10-9----7---9------------------
B--x--x-x----------------------------------------------------
G--x--x-x--7--6--7--6---4---6-7--6----4---6---6b--15t--6r----
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

e--x--x-x--10-9--10-9---7---9-10-9----7---9------------------
B--x--x-x----------------------------------------------------
G--x--x-x--7--6--7--6---4---6-7--6----4---6---6b--15t--6r----
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

                                                        Pause
e--x--x-x--10-9--10-9---7---9-10-9----7---9---10--9----------
B--x--x-x----------------------------------------------------
G--x--x-x--7--6--7--6---4---6-7--6----4---6---7---6----------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

  (!)
e-------10--9--10--9---7---9---10--9---7---9---10--9---------
B------------------------------------------------------------
G--12---7---6--7---6---4---6---7---6---4---6---7---6---------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

e---12--10--9---10--9---7---9---10--9---7---9---10--9--------
B------------------------------------------------------------
G---9---7---6---7---6---4---6---7---6---4---6---7---6--------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

Note: when moving into the chorus, substitute the last couple
notes with the beginning of the chorus. Use random guitar
sounds with lots of whammy.

Chorus:
e------------------------19---------19b-r---15bw-------------
B--/12\------/8---/16-------18------18b-r---14bw-------------
G--/12\------/7---/15----------16---16b-r---13bw-------------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

The song repeats parts of the intro, the verse and chorus with
a few minor changes that you can figure out.

The solo uses a fast picking pattern, but again, I'll only
give you the basic notes to hit.

Solo:
e------------------------------------------------------------
B---7--6-----7--6------/12--11------10--9----------------9---
G---------6--------6b-----------10---------8---6w------------
D------------------------------------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

                                          start a verse.....
e------------------------------------------------------------
B------10------9---------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------5--6--7--8---------------------
D--/8------/7-----6--7--8--9---------------------------------
A------------------------------------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------------

That's basically the structure of the song. Play it with the
song to get it down nice.
ENJOY!
