corrections From: Tim Millard Subject: r/rage_against_the_machine/testify.tab "Testify" - Rage Against the Machine Taken from the album "The Battle of Los Angeles" Tabbed by Tim Millard (millartj@wilkes1.wilkes.edu) Drop D tuning (DADGBE) The existing tab in the archive was fundamentally correct, but it missed some important parts (mainly the funky D/F/whatever chord in the chorus), and it had the post-solo breakdown mixed up. Some of the tabbing came from RATM's performance at the 2000 MTV VMA (free Tim Commerford!). Intro / Verse: As far as I know, Tom uses his whammy pedal for this part and oscillates the high D string. Chorus: E -------------------------------------------------------- B -6------------------------6-----------------------12/13- G -5------------------------5-----------------------12/13- D -4------------------------4---------7-10----------12/13- A -5--------3----5^3--------5---------7-10----5^3--------- D ----3^5-0----0-----0-5-3-----3^5-0--7-10--0-----0------- Pre-Solo: E ------------------------- B ------------------------- G -19-19-19-19-19-19-19-19- D ------------------------- A -17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17- D ------------------------- Solo: Good luck on this one. Tom uses either the whammy or wah pedal (or both?) on this, while touching the end of his guitar jack to the bridge of his guitar. Post-Solo: E ------------ B -10~-------- G -10~-------- D -10~--10-0~- A -8~~--10-0~- D ------10-0~- Outro: E --------------------- B --------------------- G -7(b)-7(b)-7(b)-7(b)- D --------------------- A -5(b)-5(b)-5(b)-5(b)- D ---------------------
