Intro:
|:F	C :| (2x’s)

| F C |	#	Am	|
There’ve been so many girls that I’ve known #(walk down notes to Am c, b, b flat, a)

I’ve made so many cry and still I wonder why
| Am |	|

| Am |	|
I see her walking down the street
| Am |	|
	She’s all by herself
| Am |	|
I try and knock her off her feet
| Am	F F |	F	F	G	▬	|
But she’ll never break, never break, never break, never break
| g	C	Am | Am	G	▬	|	little “g” is root note lead into C chord
This heart of stone. Oh, no, no | this heart of stone	of course this is optional – or play no note

| F C |#	Am	|
What’s different a bout her? I don’t really know
| D |	G	|
No matter how I try I just can’t make her cry
(Instrumental w/ lead guitar)
| Am |	|
| Am |	|
| Am |	|
| Am |	|

This heart of stone. Oh, no, no | this heart of stone

| F C |	#	Am	|
Don’t keep on looking that same old way
| D |	G	|
If you try acting sad, you’ll only make me glad
| Am |	|
 	Better listen little girl
| Am |	|
You go on walking down the street
| Am |	|
 	I ain’t got no love,
| Am |	|
I ain’t the kind to meet
| Am	F	F |	F	F	G	▬	|
‘Cause you’ll never break, never break, never break, never break

| g	C	Am | Am	G	▬	|
This heart of stone. Oh, no, no | this heart of stone
 (Slowly Fade Out)

The lead is in pentatonic scale Am. I don’t play lead but my son does, and if you know your scales it should come easy.

By Tim Cretella (tcretel@aol.com )

I was up late one night looking for something to play. I was in the mood for some stones
and started playing the record. I didn’t have the chords to the song so I went to the
internet to get the tabs, but there was none. So for the first time I got bold enough
to try figuring it out. This is my pay back to all those free spirits out there that
help each on of us go on enjoying our love. Thanks.
