played with extremely quick picking that is difficult to emulate

rather than write out the exact note values for you, i'm going to assume that 
you can find a copy of the record to play along with.  the only tricky part 
here is the length of time that the f# at the end of the first line is played 
for.  it begins on beat one of a measure and is held through beat one of the 
next, which sounds simple, but timing the pull off afterwards can be tricky, 
not to mention the fact that all of this is played with mazingly controlled 
speed picking.  note also that the solo ends on the 5th scale degree of A and 
not the first, which gives it an unresolved sound that will sound wrong if you 
play this without the backing chords.  however, i can guarantee that it's 
right (thanks to helen and sam...).
