Come Sail Away - Styx
-----------------------
>From the Styx Greatest Hits album.
Transcribed by Kevin Greszler (kgreszle@wam.umd.edu)

*I finger pick the intro and first two verses in this pattern to mimic
the
broken chords the piano plays (this is just an example on a C chord, hit
the
appropriate bass note for whatever chord youre playing not necessarily
the
5th string):

 --------0-------
 ----1-------1---
 --0---0---0---0-
 ----------------
 3---------------
 ----------------

Youll need to listen to the recording as some of the chords get played
twice
while others only once. Also this is my first tab and although I think
these
chords sound right I am by no means positive on all of them so I would
welcome any corrections if you find them. Hope you enjoy.

intro - C Dm Em Dm C (Play the Dm and Em as a barred Am up on the 5th
and
7th frets respectively then on the C at the end I just do a little
tremelo
on the bass note like in the recording then into the song)

C G Am F G
I'm sail.... away, set ...................... virgin ...

C G Am F G
I've got.......free, free ........................ ahead .....

Am G
On ...................... so ........

Am G
We'll ................... on ..........

         C G Am G C
........ try, oh ......... try .. carry on

*Play intro again

*Same chords and pattern for second verse

Bridge- F G F C x3 (Strum Fs several times let Gs and Cs ring in bridge
and
following verses)

  C F G F
. gather... ...angels appeared ..........head

     C F G F
.... sang .......... song ............ this ............ said

          C F
......... come .......... come ......

     C G
.... sail ......... me

          C F
......... come .......... come .......

     C G
.... sail ......... me

*same chords and pattern for fourth verse
