Song:   Suite-Pea (track 1)
Artist: System of a Down
Album:  System of a Down
Label:  Columbia/American

This song is in the follwing tuning: CGCFAD (low to high)
To get to this tuning do drop-d and then tune all strings down two
semi-tones/half-steps, i.e:

E|--- down 2 semitones --> |D
B|--- down 2 semitones --> |A
G|--- down 2 semitones --> |F
D|--- down 2 semitones --> |C
A|--- down 2 semitones --> |G
E|--- down 4 semitones --> |C (assuming we start from standard tuning)

Incidentally, the song sounds fine in drop-d, just a bit high - at
least I think it does; I can't guarantee all the harmonics n stuff
will come out right. Of course, as per usual there are some very
slight variations in the way Daron Malakian plays the parts each time
through e.g downward slides instead of the bends at the end of the
chorus - listen for them if you want, but I didn't think it was worth
the effort to list them all. Make sure you crank up the gain and the
bass for this one.

Some notation:

H = harmonic: gently rest your finger on the string without pressing
    it against the fretboard at the position indicated. My index
    finger's about the right width for these particular harmonics.
x^= bend up from x. The number below the tab tells you how many
    semi-tones to bend up to.
M = Palm-mute
P = 'pinch'. No idea if this is the correct term but it's what I call
    it. There could also be a 'proper' way of doing it, but here's
    what works for me: Hold the pick near the point between thumb and
    middle finger. Instead of plucking the string cleanly,
    half strike, half slice it with your thumb and the pick. I know
    thats not all that clear but have a go if you don't know what I'm
    on about - you'll find it somewhere...
/ \=upward and downward slides respectively
. = Usually means truncate the note, i.e do not let it ring UNLESS it
    indicates where to lie your finger when doing harmonics (i.e in
    the intro).

Intro:
======
There's no nice way of tabbing this really, so I hope you understand
what I'm doing here. The basic gist is to slide from 5th down to 3rd
and back upto 5th again striking 16 harmonics in the process, also
palm-muting the strings slightly. Do this on the following strings:
F (high)C G (high)C
Peform this sequence twice before going inot the verse. The plucking
is actually pretty fast - I had to space out the tab for clarity's
sake.
Oh and if you have one, select a humbucker in the bridge position for
best results. Same applies to other SOAD songs in my experience.

Then guitar comes in (below). In the second line of tab below, there
is a bend at the end. This bend is of magnitude approximately 1
semitone and as well as bending upto the note, it must be brought back
down again - have a listen. This bent note is also pinched, as is the
note before it.
