Ok, just so i don't get any more blooming emails about what tuning 
this is in (even though it clearly says by the side of each line
of tab!), I will say once and for all that this song and all other
SOAD songs (to the best of my knowledge) are in:

*** CGCFAD ****

If you don't know, this is like DADGBE or 'drop-d' but with all
the strings tuned two semitones/halfsteps lower. i.e starting
from standard tuning, do the following. Oh before you do, you 
might want to note that this song sounds fine in drop-d anyway,
just a little too high. Right here goes:

E|--- goes down *2* semitones --> D
B|--- goes down *2* semitones --> A
G|--- goes down *2* semitones --> F
D|--- goes down *2* semitones --> C
A|--- goes down *2* semitones --> G
E|--- goes down *4* semitones --> C

You're now in 'drop-c' tuning. Lets begin...

Initially I tabbed this song in the octave you heard through
your stereo but after watching the bonus video stuff on my
limited edition CD I saw that he was playing all the stuff in
a lower octave on the fretboard. He may have used an octave
pedal or something to get it the same pitch used on the
recording. Oh, and I could be wrong (happens quite a lot) but
I think I detect a wiff of a chorus pedal on the intro and
verse parts.

I've put the old intro and verse parts into and appendix at
the end incase you want to play them at the correct octave
with some kind of fancy pedal.

Incidentally I'll probably tab some older SOAD stuff thats
mising at the moment e.g war, suite pea and soil.... look
out for those soon

[PALM MUTED... ...] means palm-mute the notes.
[MUTED] also means palm-mute the notes.

Only reason I used two different symbols for muting is that it looks
neater in some places.
