[this file is a piece of history, as you can see from the headers: first it
was sent in by steve portigal - one of the original big contributors to the
archive - and archived by the original archivist, james bender at nevada in 93;
then an update was sent to me while i was working on the archive while still 
in ireland (95); and now (2002) there's a new update. but here's the real
kicker: i'm guessing that the email mentioned in the initial text ('fonzie',
Stephan Ferenczy) was a post that steve found in alt.guitar.tab 
and sent to the archive. in short:

OK, here is some more detail to the song (one of my favorites). I have a =
minor change to 08fonzie@ac.dal.ca's verse -  I keep a C structure =
instead of moving to a Dsus structure. Be sure to put downstroke =
emphasis on the base notes as you walk down (C, B, G). I tend to hit =
these and then follow through with the strumming (this is how I have =
tabbed it). Here it is:

The chorus basically inverts the verse - it starts by replaying the 2nd =
half of the verse (starting with the C chord). The Am part just changes =
chord position to make it interesting. It's easier to play if you keep =
your third finger on the D string as you slide it up from the 2nd fret =
to the 7th. This variation in position happens during the bridge as =
well.

Repeat this twice. The electric guitar solo that comes next is great if =
you have a second guitar, but I like to play the following. Be sure to =
place emphasis on the walking D string during the 2nd bar - this gives a =
nice sound.
