This should be F#m to D, but Bmin to G sounds pretty good. 8)

In order to play along with the song, use G, C, and Em, and capo on the 
first fret....

I try to get by on Edge's riffs with something like:

I think U2 plays this in A, tuned down half a step.  I use G because I 
like the sound.

INTRO: G (320033) C (x32010) (repeat)
       For an intro riff, I alternate the second-string D and the 
       open G on the G chord, then the open high E and G of the C,
       adding appropriate bass notes:
       G (d"d" g"d" g"d" ) C (g"e" g"e" g"e" g") (repeat)
