Date: Mon, 2 Jan 2006 17:09:27 -0600 From: Y.K. Siow Subject: v/vega_suzanne/gypsy.crd Gypsy by Suzanne Vega ----- The Gypsy tab is a nice work by Rich. I don't have a capo now, so here's a simplified (and lazy) version of the tab. This comes complete with chords so you can actually strum. To fingerpick using this version, just follow the chords and watch out when your right hand chooses the first or second (or even third) string as the bottom-most string. Also, feel free change bass midway through the chord, to achieve the similar bass effect of this song. For example, in the intro, pick the E bass halfway through the first A chord before moving on to the F#m, and so on. ----- Chord chart: Dsus2 xx0230 Esus 022200 E* 476454 F#m 244252 Fingerpicking sequence (T=thumb, I=index, M=middle): 12345678 12345678 M I M I OR M I M I T T T T T T T T Which string to pick depends on the chord; just experiment. Replace middle finger with ring finger if that's more comfortable. ----- Intro: A F#m Dsus2 A A F#m Dsus2 Esus-E-Esus-E A A F#m Dsus2 A You come from far away... pictures... eyes A F#m Dsus2 Esus Coffee... morning... blue... sunrise A F#m Dsus2 A But... cathedral... recognize... sign A F#m Dsus2 A We... each other... part... design (Chorus) Bm E F#m E* Oh... like... will... sleep Bm E F#m E* Curl... inside... hear... heat A F#m Dsus2 A Oh...
