Slide Away is one of my favourite Verve songs... and Simon's bass line is awesome
and extremely prominent.

intro (repeat for verse):

G|-----------------------0-0-0-0-----------------------|
D|-----------0-0-0-0-0-0---------4-4-4p2-2-2-2-2-4-2-4-|
A|-0-0-0-0-0-------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------|

refrain:

G|-----------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------|
A|-0*--------------------------------------------|
E|----3*-2*-0*-0-2-3-----------------------------|

note: for the notes with *, you just have to follow the singer, for example, keep on
playing the A for as long as Richard's going "I was thinking maybe we could go
outside?" then the G "let the night sky cool your foolish pride" then F# for next
line, then G-F#-E-F#-G to lead to the next verse and then play the intro over again.
