Date: Wed, 20 Feb 2002 13:04:44 -0800 (PST) From: Subject: v/vex_red/cant_smile.tab Song : Can't Smile Artist : Vex Red Album : Start With A Strong and Persistant Desire (March 2002) ------------------- Tabbed by M.Beattie (insomnious3@yahoo.co.uk) Here's the new stormer of a single from Vex Red. I just picked it up today have listened to it enough to figure out about 90% of the guitar work. Since I haven't already found the tab, I thought I'd do it myself. If you have any problems, feel free to email me. My only request is that you don't rip this off as your own work, apart from that, feel free to share it. Thanks. -------------------- Tuning : Dropped-D For the best sound, use a Gibson Les Paul - all the guitarists in Vex Red play them. The tab below is for the chords which are played, NOT the number of times strummed. It's easy enough to work that out from the song. ------------------- Intro ***** This distorted riff is played not only throughout the Intro, but also in the same fashion throughout each chorus. It's not a vital part, but if you have enough guitarists, then you could add this. Guitar1 E:---------------- B:---------------- G:---------------- D:--8-8-8-8-7-7--- X10 A:--6-6-6-6-5-5--- D:---------------- INTRO/CHORUS ------------ Guitar2 (comes in after above is played 6 times) E:--------------------------------------| B:--------------------------------------| G:--------------------------------------| D:---10--/--12-/-13------3-----12-/-13--| X2 (emphasis the F5 (3rd Fret chord) A:---10--/--12-/-13------3-----12-/-13--| D:---10--/--12-/-13------3-----12-/-13--| Guitar3 (comes in with Guitar2) E:----------------------------------| B:----------------------------------| G:--5--/--7-/-8----------7-/-8------| D:--5--/--7-/-8---3------7-/-8------|continued..... I haven't quite figured out the part before, I'll post it when I do.
