Remember, the notes in brackets - eg: Eb(Db) - are THE BASS NOTES
ONLY.  If
you modify your basic chord to include these bass notes, you will get
the tonal effect intended by the composer.  (But they're trickier to
play!)

I prefer to play the Eb(Db) chord like this:

Bar across fret 8, strings D, G & B.  Put another finger on low E
string,
fret 9 (Db).
